A story of anger and jealousy may be hidden behind the crash of a 5-year-old child yesterday evening, around 10:30 p.m. The child was hit by a car at the intersection of Pinelli and Industria streets, in the San Donato neighborhood, and was taken in serious condition to the Regina Margherita hospital.
The little boy was with his father, mother and sister when, at an intersection, a yellow Fiat Panda lost control and crashed into them. The child crashed into the asphalt, while the car hit a parked vehicle. The woman who was driving fled the scene.
But what initially seemed like a random accident quickly took a different turn. It was the father who recognized the person driving the car: “My ex-girlfriend, it was her, she hit us on purpose,” he shouted. According to this hypothesis, the driver of the vehicle may have been the real target.
The woman, Camilla D'Alessandra, 24, from Turin, was found by the carabinieri of the Turin rapid intervention unit and arrested on charges of attempted murder and serious injury.
The child remained conscious the entire time. He received first aid from the 118 ambulance medical teams and was then transported under code red to the pediatric hospital, where he was diagnosed with chest and abdominal trauma. Doctors estimated that the injuries will take about 40 days to heal.
Immediately, the Moroccan community, of which the child's family is a part, gathered at the scene of the accident and began searching for the woman who had hit him. Municipal police patrols and carabinieri arrived at the scene, who began investigations to accurately reconstruct what had happened.
The Carabinieri are working to determine the dynamics of the incident. Meanwhile, the lawyer of the detained young woman, Cristian Scaramozzino, stated: The fact that the girl and the father of the child knew each other does not automatically exclude the possibility of an accident. I would still keep the accident hypothesis in mind, despite the peculiarity of the fact that the people knew each other.
