The National Front and a circular for the publication of the magazine "Our War"

After the creation of the National Front in November 1943, its leaders tried to further improve the activity of this organization, taking measures to publish a propaganda magazine. Through this initiative, the Central Committee of the National Front sought not to fall behind the Communist Party, which had already sophisticated its political, military and propaganda activities and was followed by many Albanians in organizing the war against the Italian invaders. 

The special feature of this announcement bearing the signature of Mit'hat Frashëri is the reason for the distribution of the circular.

It states that " in this magazine, all the lists of Albanian Nationalism against Italy and Germany will be published, as well as, what is important in many points of view, the various episodes of passive resistance that our people have to their enemies in cities and in the mountains". For this reason, the provincial committees in Gjirokastër, Korçë, Berat, Durrës, Vlorë, Shkodër and Tirana had to send the necessary details for publication.

This magazine never saw the printing press because it was impossible. Material for publication was missing. Which episodes of the "resistance" of the National Front in the cities and mountains could be mentioned? There was no question of active armed resistance against the Italian and then the German invaders. But even "passive resistance", although an absurd term, could not be talked about. If passive resistance is defined as acceptance of occupation and cooperation with them, or as it has recently begun to circulate, "accommodation with the occupier", then yes, this magazine could be published. Even in several numbers at once.

The Press Office of the National Front intends to publish a magazine for the Twenty-Eighth of November, our national holiday. This one and the same magazine will be called "Our War". In this magazine, all the lists of Albanian Nationalism against Italy and Germany will be published, as well as, as it is important in many points of view, the various episodes of passive resistance that our people have offered to the enemies in the cities and in the mountains will be listed. .

We beg you, therefore, to have the kindness to send us as soon as possible all the details that you know and that you can gather in this short time we have left, before the 25th of November.
