SCANDAL/ Coca-Cola “ZHDUK” 1.8 MILLION liters of expired drinks in
"Coca-Cola"

The NFA is the institution that should guarantee food security in the country, but there are many cases when this very institution puts the lives of citizens at risk by remaining silent in the face of abuses by private entities.

The ALSAI report has shown in detail how NKU inspectors have favored the subject " Coca-Cola " in a series of violations, as they carried out procedures for the disposal of tons of expired beverages.

More specifically, the SAI report emphasizes that the procedure for the disposal of expired beverages lacks a regular disposal record that must be signed by Environmental Inspectors, Tax Inspectors, and NFA Inspectors.

In this case, the entity "Coca-Cola" has eliminated the Environmental and Tax Inspectors by making do with only a report signed by the NFA inspectors.

Another concern raised by the ALSAI is the fact that photos of the place where the products were destroyed are missing.

At the same time, the subject's receipt is missing, for the purpose of unloading the destroyed products from the warehouse.

This is a validating and basic document that evidences the departure of expired products from the warehouse.

Following the suspicious procedures for the disposal of expired beverages by the entity "Coca-Cola", "Ora News" addressed a specific request to the AKU, requesting information on how many disposal procedures "Coca Cola" carried out in 2019, and also requested that the list of products that were disposed of be made available to us.

The NFA informs us that during this period "Coca Cola" has carried out 4 disposal procedures (1,809,054 liters & 304 kg) amounting to one million eight hundred thousand liters of beverage, but does not provide us with the list of products destined for disposal.

But the scandal deepens in the fact that the KTA, which should have been present during the disposal process, has no information that the entity "Coca Cola" has made 4 disposals of expired beverages.

This institution officially informed us that in 2019 there was no disposal practice by this entity.

How can a global brand in Albania break the laws, and not notify the Environmental Agency, which has a legal obligation?

This is the institution that controls where expired beverages end up after disposal, but apparently it has no idea that "Coca Cola" has disposed of 1,809,054 one million eight hundred thousand liters of expired beverages.

Has this amount been destroyed?

If so, where did they end up?

Why haven't Environmental Inspectors been informed to document with photos and videos the disposal of expired beverages?

According to the laws in force, the disposal of expired products cannot be done without the presence and signature of Environmental Inspectors./ OraNews
