The former President of the Republic and the chairman of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta,  was arrested on Monday by order of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime.

SPAK announced Ilir Meta as a person under investigation under suspicion of passive corruption, non-declaration and concealment of assets and money laundering , as well as imposed the mandatory appearance measure for Monika Kryemadhi , as well as house arrest for Pirro Xhixho and mandatory appearance for Ema Chokun .

In the SPAK file provided by VoxNews , which includes not only senior politicians, but also well-known business figures.

According to the SPAK file, the well-known businessman of " Gener 2 " Bashkim Ulaj was involved in a clash with Ilir Meta, regarding the procedures for laying optical fibers and other infrastructural projects.

The conversations provided by SPAK show a series of secret meetings between Bashkim Ulaj and the businessman, Adrian Shatku, the cousin of Monika Kryemadhi, the latter admitted to the media today.

Part of SPAK interception between Adrian Shatku and Monika Kryemadhi :

"Monika Kryemadhi writes to Adrian that: 'Iliri carefully tells me that B should not be registered and not to mention our names.'"

Further in the communications dated November 18, 2014, Adrian Shatku writes to Kryemadhi:

"For that Iliri told me to do it and have both."

Another document shows the moves of Monika Kryemadhi and businessman Adrian Shatku to take over the telecommunications and technology businesses monopolized by Bashkim Ulaj of "Gener 2".

"Adrian Shatku writes to Monika Kryemadhi that: 'The union is 95% ready. Can we sign tonight or tomorrow?'”

We recall that former president Ilir Meta was arrested on Monday in Tirana, while returning from Kosovo , by order of the Special Structure against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK).

He is accused of criminal offenses: corruption, money laundering and non-declaration of assets.

The same charges are also against Monika Kryemadhi , but unlike her ex-husband, the Special Court assessed that Kryemadhi should have a milder security measure, taking into account several elements, among them Kryemadhi's health.

Since October 21, Meta has been detained in the cells of the Security Block in Tirana, while Pirro Xhixho ( Erisa Xhixho's father ) has been assigned " house arrest ", while Monika Kryemadhi and Ema Çoku have been placed under "compulsion to appear".
