Degradation of diplomacy, on the day of the negotiations Olta Jaka defended the
Foreign Minister Olta Jacka

The good day seems that in the morning and the morning of this Thursday was not a good day for Albania to get a date for opening negotiations, following news from Bulgaria.

For this reason, no positive results were expected from the EU-Western Balkans summit, and edi Rama knew that before leaving for Brussels, when he raised the rhetorical question of "what to do there?!".

But if Rama does not have "what to do", the meeting was a good opportunity to lobby that at the next summit Albania would not be hostage to the Bulgarian veto against North Macedonia, that is, division should be required.

The Foreign Ministry is responsible for lobbying and protecting the interests of Albanians in the world. But what happens? On the most important integration day so far this year (perhaps it may be the most important of the whole year), Albania's Foreign Minister has other priorities.

Olta Xhaka did not travel to Brussels to exercise the task for which she is paid by Albanian citizens, so to raise and protect the interests of Albanians in the face of European diplomacy. From today the diplomatic foundations could be laid to realize the next step, which is to break away from North Macedonia and open negotiations.

But these foundations pushed them for another day. The reason? The minister was to be in Tirana and protect the man and his benefit status as a strategic investor. Therefore, the personal and private interest of Olta Djacka prevailed over the interests of albanians. This is another test of the degradation of Albanian politics in general and that of foreign policy in particular.

Instead of being in Brussels and taking turns grabbing her European Union counterparts by jacket, asking for a date for the negotiations, Olta Xhaka grabbed the speaker of the Assembly and accused the opposition of slandering her husband, of not conflicting interest and of violating no laws.

Xhaka may not be in conflict of interest, but the choice to stay in Tirana on the day that integration was discussed in Brussels, the main ambition of Albanians in these 3 decades shows that its interest is not Albanians, but pockets.

Instead of being in Brussels and telling her EU colleagues why Albania is training the negotiations, the minister stayed in Tirana to say that "her husband was not favoured, but had only received the legal security that gave her strategic investor status".

But today in Albania precisely the legal security of property is the biggest problem and this proves the denunciations of the head of Cadastra for durres and Tirana counties, where property falsifications have taken on frightening proportions.

Property security is what scares foreign investors into becoming "strategic" in our country. The last one to try to become strategic with a million-dollar investment in The Bay of Lalz left the country with broken legs.
