The approach of the end-of-year holidays also translates into increased spending for Albanian families to buy toys for children, which have become a tradition. While looking at it from the perspective of business, it seems to be following a positive trend, also due to the increased interest in buying these products.
The official data of the General Directorate of Customs, according to Scan TV, show that during the period January-November 2023, 1.7 tons of toys were imported, worth nearly 1.3 billion ALL or 13 million dollars. In other words, apart from other expenses for children, such as food, clothing, education, entertainment, just on toys, Albanians spend 13 million dollars in less than a year.
But which are the countries that supply the toy market in Albania?
According to official data, the largest share is China, a country from which the value of imported toys this year reaches 5 million dollars.
In second place is Greece, from which we receive nearly 2 million dollars of children's toys. Followed by Italy, a country which brings us 1.7 million dollars. Imports from Turkey, Serbia, Slovenia and North Macedonia also account for a significant weight.
In total, there are 51 countries from where we supply these products, including countries such as India, Indonesia, Malaysia, USA, etc.
