The high tourism boom, especially during the summer season, significantly increased consumption in the country. This is also shown by the figures of retail sales, which experienced a revival in the third quarter of this year.

The Institute of Statistics reports that in the second and third months of the year, this indicator remained high at 5.6% compared to a year ago.

The main contribution to this volume of retail sales in the country was provided by fuels with 2.2 percentage points. Non-food items such as clothing, shoes, furniture with 1.8 percentage points as well as food, drinks and tobacco with 1.6 percentage points.

If we focus on the performance of businesses in this lively period of the year, it turns out that hotels and tourist agencies flourished, while bars and restaurants remain behind, whose sales increased less. Proving what experts have said several times that more low-cost tourists visited Albania.

While salaries have continued to increase for all service sectors, even in those with the lowest sales. The strongest increase in wages was in the hotel sector, which has also had problems with finding the workforce, as well as for travel agencies.
