Based on the information published in the Electronic Register for Public Notices and Consultations, some changes have been proposed in the draft law "On some additions and changes to Law No. 64/2012, "On Fishing".

The purpose of this draft law is to update and align with the new or amended legislation of the European Union in the field of fishing. It is intended to adjust and update the provisions related to the fishing infrastructure, its management and transfer, as well as the review of the level of measures for the foreseen sanctions. Everything is defined in a draft law drawn up by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In this document, the changes related to some of the reformulations of the terms regarding the fishing activity as well as the conservation and management measures of living water resources are mainly noted.

Other changes are related to violations and administrative misdemeanors. Fines have been revised and in some cases increased, but also decreased for certain violations.

For example, if we analyze article number 128, in point d, which is related to the hunting of juveniles, species of fish and other aquatic organisms unable to reproduce or with sizes beyond those foreseen, is now punished with a fine from 100,000 ALL to 1,000,000 ALL as well as the seizure of undersized fish production. Previously, the fine for this violation was from ALL 100,000 to ALL 500,000.
