The Water Regulatory Authority has started the procedures for reviewing applications for increasing water and sewerage rates in 13 cities. According to the decisions made by the Regulatory Commission, there are 3 regional companies in the process, which cover 12 cities and the Vlora water supply company.
More specifically, we are talking about the Durrës regional society that also includes Krujë, Shijak, Kavaja and Rrogozhina, that of Fier, which also includes Patosi, Roskoveci and Mallakastra, and the Lezhë regional society, which also includes Mirdita and Kurbini.
Referring to ERRU's decisions, the Durrës regional company has submitted all the necessary documentation, while other companies must complete the application file, as otherwise the request for a tariff increase will be rejected.
The application for an increase in service charges was expected after the reform undertaken in the sector last year, as one of its objectives was to improve the financial sustainability of UK companies, including among other things the gradual harmonization of prices in the service area. .
Referring to the procedure, it is the Water Regulatory Body that takes the final decision on accepting or rejecting requests made by companies or on the tariff level that will be applied to subscribers.
Meanwhile, a few weeks ago, the Entity rejected the request of 3 regional companies for the increase in water tariffs. The companies of Shkodra, Berat and Elbasan, which cover a total of 16 cities, recently applied to ERRU for a tariff change, but their request was rejected due to non-fulfillment of the criteria.
