Erion Veliaj's lawyer: Urgent intervention is needed for him

From the Fier Memorial Hospital, lawyer Plarent Ndreca has claimed that the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, needs urgent intervention, after an assessment of his health condition by a Turkish doctor.

"I came to get the documentation, but I can't provide it," said Ndreca, emphasizing that this is a scandalous situation, due to the negligence of the institutions, which has led to the deterioration of the leg's condition.

"Every detainee has basic rights guaranteed by the Constitution and the law, as well as the right to medical treatment immediately upon request," the lawyer emphasized.
