Hasan Billa

Hasan Billa is the 56-year-old Albanian who was arrested by the Boston Office of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) during an operation. It is learned that Billa faces state charges related to an undercover investigation conducted on May 28 in Hartford for the exploitation of minors.

According to foreign media, among the charges filed are attempted second-degree sexual assault, attempted sexual abuse of a minor, and attempted sexual contact with a person under the age of 16. The operation was conducted by Hartford Police in cooperation with the FBI's Crimes Against Children and Human Trafficking Task Force.

According to police, an undercover detective posed online as a 15-year-old girl, while Billa and two other people traveled to an address in Hartford, claiming to meet a minor for sexual intercourse. The three were arrested without incident and initially set bail at $500,000.

The US agency announced the arrest on September 25, saying he was part of targeted operations in Wolcott. As of press time, Billa had not been arraigned and charges were pending. ICE has not released further details about his immigration status or whether he is currently in the agency's custody.
