While the voting process in the EU countries is coming to an end, a few days ago the prime minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni, made an important visit to Albania. It was called a flash visit by the western media, exactly to the refugee camps in Shengjin and Gjadër. Although these two events seem to have no compatibility between them, we must remember that one of the main flags of the European candidates during the pre-election campaign was precisely the topic of immigrants. Their security and management up to the equipment with regular documents referring you precisely to the Dublin Regulation and legal points related to human rights.
The forecast showed us that the radical right wing in Europe is on the rise. From here it is clear that changes are expected in the foreign policies of the respective countries. Therefore, reducing the flow of immigrants and rejecting them en masse will surely be a short-term project plan of theirs already. Seeing this panorama of Europe from this point of view, together with Meloni, who seems to be considered a second 'Merkel' in terms of stature, the leaders of the EU countries are trying to protect their societies from the so-called lesson of foreigners. Could they?
But meanwhile, does it seem like history is repeating itself again with the same actors and different scenarios?
We must remember that long ago it was the Europeans who, as foreigners, taught towards other countries. Especially towards the African ones. To colonize or exploit them. Without leaving any development window.
I share it today, for this reason, the time has come to give an answer to the consequences and responsibilities.
But what role does Albania play in all this flow of developments? Where does she stand between the collision of two worlds? Two continents or civilizations?
Will it be possible for Europe and its technicians to carry out this 'task' successfully?
Since the period of King Zog, Italy has never been so close politically to Albania. And this not without reason.
Our journey with ups and downs in relations with him and especially the isolation from the West during the period of communism cut off any cooperative relationship. The pact made by Prime Minister Edi Rama goes beyond the limits of internal politics, the noise created in the media, the sometimes shallow and sometimes malicious comments against this 'marriage', going as a forcefully underground message to the European bureaucrats that Albania, if yes , is already ready to line up next to them.
To be accepted by them, to be in a row with them. To follow those policies, the same. In mind and view.
The immigrant agreement, in the media in the West, is a news that left behind, undoubtedly a positive echo, where Germany itself, which is facing problems with the management of immigrants, came out openly through its interior minister, stating that this agreement is not only facilitating for Italy but above all for the EU itself. So this is one more reason why this model should be taken as an example for the following cases.
Just as Albania has sought and always seeks help and assistance from internationals in relation to security, cyber and economic issues as well, at the same time it would not be appropriate to say no to this opportunity for cooperation. Giving in this way a little contribution to an issue that we have not only suffered ourselves as a people, but that will continue to affect us in the future, starting from the geographical position where we are, given that we are a key territory between the East of the West.
With a world that is becoming globalized day by day and nationalistic cultures are theoretically being devalued, it is impossible to stop the demographic movements, so there is no other option but cooperation in their progress.
Man has always been a free being, able to adapt to any situation and in search of progress. If the conditions of the countries from which immigrants come cannot provide the minimum standards of life, they have every right in the world, moral and legal, to leave their country. On the surface it looks like a 'lesson' towards the west but in reality it is just a cry of agony and despair, with only one condition; integration as soon as possible in the respective countries.
