Albania's support for Kosovo should be state policy, not Edi Rama's

There is no, and there should never be, any equivocation about Kosovo.

Kosovo is an independent and sovereign state, Serbia must recognize this reality and any attempt to treat it, also because of problems within Belgrade, as part of Serbian territory is unacceptable. On this point, every Albanian institution must speak with one voice.

But Edi Rama cannot present himself today as the great guardian of Kosovo's interests just because he tries to look interesting in the X format.

Diplomacy is not measured by the number of jokes that go viral. It is measured by the stances it takes when the cameras are off, the alliances it builds, and the political line it follows for years.

For years, Rama built his regional protagonism on his personal closeness to Aleksandar Vu?i?, on the spectacle of the “Open Balkans,” and on the idea that he could be the great mediator of the region. At that time, many of the concerns coming from Pristina were treated as obstacles to his political projects.

Today, unexpectedly, the Albanian Prime Minister reveals the "political folklore of Belgrade".

Did Mr. Rama come back to reality??!!

Serbia did not recognize Kosovo yesterday and did not deny it for the first time today. The narrative of “Kosovo and Metohija”, claims over Kosovo’s territory and resources, and the perpetual ghost of “Greater Albania” have been part of Serbian political discourse for years.

That's why Albania doesn't need a prime minister who sometimes appears as Vu?i?'s closest friend with a glass of wine on the table, and sometimes as his strongest opponent in X.

Albania needs a stable and strategic foreign policy.

In support of Kosovo.

In coordination with Kosovo institutions.

In defense of its territorial integrity and sovereignty.

And in full compliance with our Euro-Atlantic allies.

Kosovo is not a stage for anyone's personal protagonism.

Not even for Belgrade.

Not even for Tirana.

Kosovo is a Republic.

And Albania's support for him should be state policy, not Edi Rama's summer status.
