From the media, I am seeing contradictory comments regarding the fact that the privatization process of the "Partizani" club began during the period of the Socialist Party's government.

Yesterday, it was alluded to this matter that I was officially engaged (with papers) in this matter as the minister of defense of the socialist government, until 2005.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, my successor, as minister in the PD government, Mr. Mediu, has stated that the "indication" of the privatization of the "Partizani" Club has begun after he was forced to return an undeliverable answer from my side, to Mr. The angel who was replaced by Mr. Genc Ruli...

Now, either one or the other is true! The two do not go together!

The truth is that I objected (not in writing) to being committed to the privatization of the "Partizani" Club. Among other reasons (I wanted the Club to be owned by the ministry responsible for sports), I verbally communicated with my colleagues that such an act could not be done since the Socialist Party had just lost the political elections of 2005. We were at a stage transition, change of government. Before the elections, as the minister of defense, I had issued an order prohibiting any important act or contract to be concluded during that period of political elections.

I understand any slip, but in any case I would like to clarify, that despite my opposition, the process (tentatively) started in the socialist government did not question the existence of the "Partizani" Club, but the transfer of management to the sponsor of the Club! This Club had the weight of Juventus or Real Madrid in the history of Albanian football! He was part of the collective memory that makes us who we are!

Panajot Pano and his generation, if he were alive, he would not forgive us for the destruction of the "Partizani" Club, which was a public asset and part of Albania's history. This sports club exists today only thanks to private initiative.

We owe Panajot Panos and his friends an apology. They left behind a history worth remembering for the "owners" of Albanian football.

You spoiled the field, where they became who they were! Even from the black and white photos, they smile at us to remind us that... history is not just the palace! Of course!
