Big Brother or DP, where is the real drama taking place?

Every year at this time, soap opera folk abandon Turkish movies to open their eyes and ears inside the Big Brother house. It is a national sport that creates audiences, attention and above all, endless pink rumors and quarrels. It is one of those safety valves that vents the malaise and social tensions in a country, when there is no war and revolutions. This is how sports or other competitions in peacetime are generally described. Better these than a war like the one in Ukraine or another January 21...

On the other side of the capital, where there are no cameras and social networks, the Democratic Party has decided to compete at a distance with Big Brother, producing a psycho-drama similar to the famous TV format. They have not found a better way to welcome the anniversary of the January 8 quarrel, except with lists of exceptions and signatures for dismissals within the political house.

DP seems involved in the eye of a cyclone with no way out, no end and no end. It seems as if this great party has already forgotten to look in front of the opponent, but only fights with its own problems. Scandals break out in the government, senior officials are arrested, and others still refuse to own up to the money stolen by the cleaners in their homes, while the opposition deals with... list of purges and motions within itself. Are you saying that the curse of 31 years when Berisha fought tirelessly with internal enemies in the party, still reigns intact, as a standard of work and behavior within the PD.

The paradox of all the polls of recent years tells us that with the increase in the consumption of Rama governments, the approval ratings of the prime minister and his party have either remained the same, or have gone up. A real arithmetical and logical nonsense, according to which the more a certain political elite is consumed, the more acceptable it becomes for third parties: the Albanians. Meanwhile, the opposition continues to remain unpopular. Recent poll numbers that see all opposition leaders at the bottom of the list, amid a winter of high-price war and history of corruption – are the most inexplicable paradox for anyone who wants to turn the tables on this country.

In a year from the date when he broke the doors of Luli in PD, Berisha (and his side Meta), were able to prove that they are building a great optical illusion. They promise a national revolution and offer a de facto overthrow of the seat, a palace coup. They spent the summer threatening Rama in all cases, times and ways of the Albanian vocabulary and did nothing more than make a hole in the water. In fact, they did much less than Lulzim Basha, who until now remains the true standard to reach for Sali Berisha.

In a year since Basha's departure, the PD left the pulpit, not that it fails to offer itself to the challenge with the fat and sleazy state of Rama, but it needs strength and effort to equalize the Democratic Party of the one they called the big loser. And when you think that Basha was really a loser, what does Berisha have to be now? In these times of televised spectacles full of melodrama and remote-controlled fights, Berisha's PD falls to be a big sister of Big Brother, where the parties fight within the claustrophobic walls of a house with cardboard walls and where Big Brother has everything under control. Even the final result, which, unlike Big Brother, has no winner...
