As one day remains from the end of the official 7-day deadline for the application for the position of General Director of the State Police, the names of 13 candidates have been revealed.

They are: 

1. Skender Hita

2. Lufti Minxhozi
3. Ilir Proda
4. Idajet Faskaj
5. Neritan Nallbati
6. Gentjan Shehaj
7. Ardian Çipa
8. Sami Rasha
9. Edmond Sulaj
10. Pëllumb Seferi
11. Adriatik Tafçiu
12. Saimir Boshnjaku
13. Shemsi Prençi

Among the names that stand out is that of Skënder Hitaj, the current director of the Durrës Police, a candidate with potential who has shown interest in being in the race for the head of the State Police.

Another candidate is Lutfi Minxhozi, who for many years has served as Director of Economic Crime in the State Police and at the same time Director of Interpol Tirana.

Another name is Neritan Nallbati, the current Director of the Directorate of Organized Crime and the Investigation of Serious Crimes. He was fired from the police but returned to the police in 2015 shortly after the Socialists came to power.

Also, interested in being part of the race and why not the next Director of the State Police, it is learned that the officer with the rank of "Senior Director", Pëllumb Seferi.

Rebani Jaupi is another name that ran for the position of the State Police. Jaupi has held several high positions in the police and meets all the conditions to be at the top of the dome of blue uniforms.

But in this race he is followed by Ilir Proda, another senior police leader, who has taken his file to compete for the head of the State Police.

Ilir Proda currently works in the police of Elbasan. 

Another name that is said to have shown interest and ran is former Judicial Police officer and former prosecutor Shkëlqim Hajdari.

Hajdari has the appropriate legal experience and at the same time police experience, as he has served in the "RENEA" special department for years.

But in this race, Hajdari is followed by another competitor, Shemsi Prençi, a former police chief who has served at the highest levels of the State Police.

Sami Rasha, the former director of the Internal Control Service currently a lecturer at the Academy, is the next candidate.

He is said to be followed by the candidacy of Adriatik Tafçi and Gentjan Shehaj.

Meanwhile, among the names that stand out is that of Shkodra district director, Edmond Sulaj, who was accused by Gazment Bardhi of being appointed to this post by crime.

The head of the opposition group said that for this there are some secret and coded conversations from the SKY ECC platform, captured by European law enforcement partners, but the police official denied them and stated that he would sue Bardhi.

It is expected that on Wednesday the deadline for submission of candidacies will end, revealing then the professional competition and scoring of files, until the announcement of the winner.
