Murder at Commissariat No. 3 in Tirana
Tirana Police has provided official information about the serious event that occurred this Monday evening, where a police officer was shot dead by his colleague.
The event took place in the premises of Commissariat no. 3.
The victim has been identified as Chaush Saliasi, while the suspected perpetrator is Ludian Zaimi. The latter has been detained by police and authorities say they are working to clarify the circumstances of the event.
It is not yet known what made Zaimi effective to shoot his colleague. Police say that at the end of the first investigative actions there will be a more complete announcement to the media.
On 23.05.2022, around 21:20, in “Mine Peza” street, in the premises of the Police Commissariat no. 3, in still unclear circumstances, the police officer Ludian Zaimi, wounded with a firearm the citizen Çaush Saliasi, both acting General Patrol officers. As a result of the received injuries, the police officer Çaush Saliasi died in the hospital.
The investigative group under the direction of the Police Supervision Agency (AMP) and the Tirana Prosecutor's Office, is at the scene and is working to clarify the circumstances of the event. The suspected perpetrator has been detained and all investigative actions are being carried out to clarify the circumstances of the event.
