After about two months on the run, Marjaldo Nela, wanted for the murder of Endri Goxhaj in Memaliaj, has surrendered to the police.

After his appearance, he was detained and made available to the justice authorities for the continuation of investigative procedures.

The incident he is accused of occurred on the evening of April 21 in the center of Memaliaj. According to the Prosecution, it all started with a momentary conflict between 7 people who were not part of any rival group. Dali Nela, his father-in-law Aldo Kalemi and other people later intervened in the fight.

At the height of the conflict, Endri Goxhaj pulled out a pistol and shot Dali Nela four times, leaving him wounded.

When they saw Dali Nela lying on the ground, his two brothers, Donaldo and Marjaldo Nela, according to the prosecution, pulled out their guns and shot Endri Goxhaj. As a result of the shooting, the 30-year-old died on the spot. According to investigators, the footage shows that Goxhaj failed to react with a gun at the moment he was shot by the two brothers.

After the shooting, Donaldo and Marjaldo Nela took their wounded brother by vehicle and urgently transported him to the Gjirokastra Hospital. They then fled and were declared wanted by the police as the suspected perpetrators of the murder.

For this incident, the Gjirokastra Court imposed the security measure "house arrest" on Dali Nela, Aldo Kalemi and Ermal Mataj. The latter is accused of the criminal offense of "Actions that hinder the discovery of the truth", as he is suspected of having hidden the weapon with which he shot Goxhaj.

With the surrender of Marjaldo Nela, one of the persons wanted after the crime, the investigations are expected to continue with his questioning to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident. His brother, Donaldo Nela, is still wanted.
