Minister of Defense Ermal Nufi announced through a post on social media today, August 3, that the fire in the Finiqi area has been brought under control.

Nufi states that this has happened thanks to the extraordinary work of the Air Force, with the intervention of 3 helicopters simultaneously and all the personnel engaged in isolating and extinguishing the fire in the territory of the Municipalities of Delvinë and Finiq. The Minister states that the joint mission of state institutions in these cases is to save the lives of citizens.

With the coordination of the National Civil Protection Agency and the tireless work of the Armed Forces, as well as the coordination of local and central structures, the situation has been brought under control.

Every intervention, every flight, every minute has a mission: to protect life, homes, and nature.

"Gratitude and respect for every officer, pilot, firefighter and member of the Armed Forces who, with professionalism, courage and dedication, were and continue to be on the front lines of this operation,"  writes Minister of Defense Ermal Nufi.
