The former mayor of Kukës, Safet Gjici, arrested for the charge of passive corruption of local officials, has appealed the measure of "imprisonment".

Through his defense lawyer, Gjici appealed to the Appeal for annulment of the decision of the First Instance. Gjic's defense lawyer has appealed the measure of arrest to the Court of Appeal with the argument that the tender mentioned in the video was never announced by the Municipality of Kukës and that his client has not committed any violation of the law.

Regarding the request for a change of measure, it is expected that a lot will be drawn for the appointment of a judge, and then a date will be set for the consideration of the request.

Safet Gjici was arrested on June 24 on the charge of "passive corruption", while he claimed that he did not break the law, but fell prey to a trap set by those who do not want him.
