The heart of the Albanian Saimir Sula who died in the "Del Mar" hospital in Barcelona during the pandemic has already been handed over to the Albanian authorities.

The Ministry of Justice announced today that the repatriation process was completed on July 15, 2023 at the Institute of Forensic Medicine, Tirana

On July 12, 2023, a group of representatives from the Ministry of Justice, the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, the General Prosecutor's Office, the Institute of Forensic Medicine, the representative of the Albanian Embassy in Madrid, received the heart of the deceased Saimir Sula from the Spanish side and completed all the necessary procedure according to the standards provided in the international acts and the procedural-criminal legislation of both countries.

The transport to Albania was carried out in accordance with the established procedure and for the transport of the heart the latest technological tools were used for such procedures with technical difficulties.

From this moment on, it is up to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana and the Institute of Forensic Medicine to carry out all further investigative actions.
