The police have escorted citizen Petrit Balaj, while Kristjan Balaj has been declared wanted, who are suspected of being the perpetrators of the rape of the couple Skënder and Bardhe Nika.

The serious incident occurred in the village of Arst in the municipality of Fushë Arrëz, where several masked individuals physically assaulted Skënder and Bardhe Nikë.

Skënder Nika stated that he was returning from work when 5 masked people wearing clothes similar to those of RENEA stopped and raped him first and then his wife after she left the house.

Skënderi further added that one of them had an automatic rifle and the others had rubber batons. He also spoke about the conflicts he had with a local family, who accused the pair of espionage.

We recall that the police, in a recent statement, stated that it is initially suspected that there are two perpetrators. 

"I was returning from work at the HEC. Five people came up to me and told me to stop, police. I stopped them, they were wearing masks and clothes similar to those of RENEA. One had an automatic rifle, the others had rubber batons.

I don't know what happened, they just shot me. And I know they told me once not to scream, then the woman came out and they beat her too.

Four days ago I had a conflict with a family in the village over strawberries. I had the same problem with them 4 years ago, when they accused me of spying.

"I asked them to swear that I did everything I could that I did not sue or spy on anyone, but they did not accept it. This is the only conflict ," he said.

The local police have also reacted to the serious incident, reporting that several citizens have hit the Nika couple.

"On 17.06.2026, at around 08:00, in the village of Arst, on the street, it is suspected that 2 still unidentified citizens have hit with hard objects, citizens SN, 55 years old and BN, 51 years old, both residents of the village of Arst. As a result, the two citizens have suffered minor injuries and are out of danger to their lives. The investigation group is working to clarify the circumstances of the incident, identify and capture the perpetrators ," the Police announced today.
