The arrest of Aldo Avdyli

One of the most spectacular operations carried out by the Durrës and Tirana Police led to the arrest of one of the well-known names in the criminal world in Albania, Aldo Avdyli from Shijak.

Before Avdyli was caught unawares, in the Thatë Lake area, in a building very close to the "Queen Casino", RENEA officers and criminal police agents faced an unusual character that they had not anticipated in this operation.

Journalist Elton Qyno has learned from sources close to the RENEA department that a minister of Edi Rama confronted police officers before they located the apartment and then arrested the much-wanted Aldo Avdyli.

This is about the current Minister of the Environment, who in the early hours of the morning was taken traumatized from his bed and confronted by RENEA at the door of his apartment.

The criminal police had precisely located Aldo Avdyli, tracking him with the intelligent device "IMSI CATCHER", but it is not known exactly in which apartment Aldo Avdyli was located.

In the early hours of the morning, RENEA and the criminal police entered the building where Aldo Avdyli had been located, initially checking several apartments.

In one apartment, police sources indicate that they knocked and called out that they were the police, so the people inside had to open the door voluntarily.

But as the police learned, a noise was heard from inside the house and on the other hand, the police officers who were in the hallway were ready to react, even with weapons.

The person who moved inside the apartment and then opened the door was the newly appointed Minister of Environment in the "Rama 4" government.

Shocked by what he saw, he turned to the police officers and said that they had done nothing, since on the very day the police had taken action, the minister had officially assumed his ministerial duties.

The police unit, convinced that they had knocked on the wrong door, then continued to search several other apartments, until they entered the apartment where the much-wanted Aldo Avdyli was staying.

His capture was a spectacular success for the Tirana and Durrës police, as for years Aldo Avdyli had no image in the criminal police, no DNA traces, and no association with police premises.

Aldo Avdyli is currently arrested on behalf of the SPAK special prosecution, which has imposed two security measures against him.

The first measure "Arrest with imprisonment" against Avdyl was imposed in May 2024, declaring him wanted by the SPAK Special Prosecution Office.

This is because during an investigation of file No. 59, the court had imposed the security measure "prison arrest" on him for the charge of "providing the conditions to commit the murder" of a well-known name in the criminal world, Durim Bami.

According to the investigation, Avdyli appears to be involved in a team of more than 16 people, who provide the means and plan the physical elimination of Durim Bami, but in reality they are unable to succeed.

Meanwhile, the second security measure is "Arrest in prison" against the 37-year-old from Shijak, who is now accused of organizing and financing the murder of Edmir Koçi alias Maloku in 2021 in Durrës.

Under pressure from the second security measure, Avdyli is said to have settled in Tirana./ Syri.net
