Gentian Bejtja, one of the most well-known names for the police in the area of Fushë Kruja, was executed in an assassination attempt. The incident happened this afternoon in the village of Larushk. Bejtja was shot at the moment he was in the yard of the apartment.
The former Fushë Kruja prison policeman became known on February 26, 2013, a day after the murder of Chief Commissioner Dritan Lamaj, who was the victim of an assassination attempt near his home in Tirana.
Beytja together with Enver Stafuka, kidnapped and missing since the evening of February 8, 2015, were suspected to be the people who had stolen the car that was used in the murder of Chief Commissioner Lamaj. Bejtja and Stafuka were handcuffed at the time by the police, but were released in 2015.
A year later in 2016, the 42-year-old also escaped a remote-controlled explosion in his vehicle.
On January 9, 2022, Gentian Bejtja escaped an assassination attempt near Nikla in Fushë-Kruje, while his 31-year-old friend Klodian Stafuka was injured who was with him in the car when they stopped to fuel the car at a fuel station. The event remains undiscovered.
On July 4, 2023, he was assassinated, outside the premises of the apartment, where his brother-in-law Ramazan L. Sino, 29 years old, was killed and Alvi G. Bejtja, 13 years old, and another son, 10 years old, were injured.
For the assassination that happened on July 4, 2023, the police suspected Valter Bami, the former friend of the victim, for whom, despite all the research, only the charge of possession without permission was raised. The latter stayed in prison for 6 months and was released under house arrest on January 18, 2024.
His name results in the associations that the police have made for the murder of Julian Cal on the Tirana-Durrës highway in 2022, but also an assassination attempt on Marklen Haka in Fushë Krujë during 2022.
