The chief prosecutor of SPAK, Altin Dumani , said this Friday that the state institutions are " self-isolated " referring to zero reports of corruption .
Altin Dumani has directly targeted the General Directorate of Taxes and that of Customs .
"Taxes zero reports, customs zero. Is there corruption there or not?!", said the head of SPAK during a meeting at "IDM Morning Briefing". However, he emphasized that the media has been a "partner" of the Special Prosecutor's Office, as many criminal proceedings have been registered from the public denunciations that have been made.
" There is a 40 percent drop in reports from institutions. Taxes zero reports, customs zero. Is there corruption there or not?!
Only the KLSH occasionally files reports with the Special Prosecutor's Office, definitely the State Police does..., but the duty of every institution is to fight corruption.
During 2023, we registered reports for three years together, being attentive to media reports, we carry out our verifications and from the denunciations made by various politicians in the media, we registered about 67 proceedings and they belong to corruption, abuse of prosecutions.
To be mindful we all have to do, but we are not the magic wand to control everything. Every institution has whistle-blowers, audits, mechanisms and they do not refer ", said the head of the Special Prosecutor's Office, Altin Dumani .
During this meeting, he showed that the family of a SPAK prosecutor was threatened by elements of organized crime.
However, the chief prosecutor himself has not given any other details about who threatened the prosecutor of the most important and powerful prosecution institution in the country. Altin Dumani stated that despite the threats, the people of justice are prepared for these situations.
"Organized crime has threatened the family of a prosecutor. I am concerned about the threat from organized crime, not the threat from politics. We have also calculated not to return, because this is our duty to investigate. Prosecutors are immune, they are all prepared to face these situations, but in the end we chose this task ourselves", Dumani is said to have said.
So, when asked by the participants in this meeting how far SPAK will go in the investigation of the washed-up officials, he answered explicitly: " We will not spare anyone ", thus emphasizing that SPAK is continuing the work on the investigation of high-ranking officials corrupt and organized crime.
