The State Police has undertaken an operation in dozens of aesthetic clinics in Tirana seizing a significant amount of contraband botox.

During the police operation coded "Botulinum toxin", a control authorized by the Court of Tirana was carried out and 30 aesthetic clinics were found to be illegal.

Mildon Kumaraku , the administrator of the entity that smuggled and stored the illegal product, as well as supplying clinics with it, was arrested . The administrators of the 2 clinics, Xhuljana Mahmuti and Deisa Shehaj, are also in handcuffs.

As a result of police and investigative actions, carried out within the framework of a criminal proceeding, initiated for the offenses "Smuggling of licensed goods", carried out in cooperation, "Smuggling by employees related to customs activity", carried out in cooperation and "Hiding of income", and directed by the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in the Directorate for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crime in the DPPSh, in cooperation with the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime, the Directorate of the Special Operational Force and with the Directorate of Customs Investigation in the General Directorate of Customs, finalized the police operation coded "Botulinum toxin".

Pursuant to the decision of the Court of Tirana, given in the framework of this operation, controls were carried out in 30 private entities (aesthetic clinics). From the controls and verifications in these entities, it was found that their administrators did not declare to the tax authorities, the income they benefited from injecting the product "Botulinum toxin" into patients, as the product is suspected to be illegal and smuggled.

For this illegality, citizens Mildon Kumaraku, Xhuljana Mahmuti and Deisa Shehaj were arrested in the act. The citizen Mildon Kumaraku is the administrator of a private entity that is suspected of smuggling and storing the illegal product, as well as supplying clinics with it. Meanwhile, citizens Xhuljana Mahmuti and Deisa Shehaj are administrators of 2 of the clinics where this product was injected.

Following the procedural actions in the framework of this operation, the proceedings began in a free state for the citizens AT, JB, JZ, LC, KB and E. Sh, as well as the citizens SF, KB and AFB, all clinic administrators, were declared wanted. aesthetic where this product was injected. Efforts are being made to capture the 3 wanted citizens.

The additional procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana for further investigation.
