Meteorologist Lajda Porja has made the weather forecast for the months of July and August.
While high temperatures have been continuing for several days now, Porja has warned that today is the peak, adding a map where the thermometer will mark 41 degrees. While yesterday these figures were recorded in Berat, today these temperatures are expected to be recorded in Shkodra, Koplik and Elbasan.
In coastal areas, temperatures are expected to be 37-38 degrees Celsius, while clear and hot weather is expected.
A drop in maximum temperatures is expected on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, with temperatures reaching up to 38 degrees.
The turn is expected to occur on Wednesday, when a colder mass originating from northern Europe enters the Balkans. Storms and downpours are expected in the north and center of the country, in smaller quantities than in northern Europe. Temperatures are expected not to reach more than 32-33 degrees Celsius.
After 4 cool days, from next Sunday onwards we will again reach 38 degrees.
"August is predicted to be hot, with temperatures of 38-39 degrees Celsius expected on many days.
In the first half of August, the country will be hit by another heat wave that we hope won't go above 41 degrees in the shade.
What is different is that summer will feel even hotter as high temperatures will not last for a few days, but will be continuous, possibly up to 12 days in a row. Cool days will be very few.
"It should be noted that temperatures are measured in the shade, while in the sun they feel 4-5 degrees higher than what is recorded," she said.
