A Turkish citizen, UY, 24 years old, was caught a few days ago at the "Mother Teresa" International Airport in Tirana, trying to leave our country to the west with a fake Slovak passport. The young Turk was found in the second line of control, after suspicions based on risk analysis of cases of Turkish citizens trying to travel to European Union countries with forged documents.

But what is the scheme that mainly Turkish citizens, but also others from countries that can travel without a visa from their country of origin to Tirana, use to arrive in the EU?

The journey from Istanbul, or other airports, to Tirana, is made according to all the rules, bearing in mind that Turks travel without visas in our country. They land in Rinas with their original documents, while the attempt to pass to the EU countries is made with false documents, and there are also other people involved who provide them.

"chech in" checks are made for repatriation with their original documents and after the crossing, these citizens do not travel to their country, but to an EU country, which has an approximate departure on schedule, since earlier they are provided with two travel tickets, one for their country and the other for the EU country they want to go to. At this point, forged documents come into play, through which at least the attempt is made.

In recent years, the number of Turkish citizens caught in Rinas trying to use this scheme has been considerable and this has forced our authorities to take additional measures, also assisted by international partners with sophisticated equipment. The chances of these citizens crossing the control line are greatly reduced, as they are subject to detailed surveillance.

In Rinas, during 2022, a total of 148 people were caught who tried to cross the border using forged documents. Sources from the Blues indicate that 5 of them have resulted in an international search from different countries, who have been arrested and further extradition procedures have started./Report Tv
