Chief Prosecutor Olsian Çela is reporting the annual activity of the General Prosecutor's Office to the Assembly.

According to Çela, during the year 2023, 1121 decisions on wiretapping authorized by the court in preliminary investigations and 456 authorizations and orders of the prosecutor were executed.

For the above, the interception of 2,675 end devices in use by 2,492 persons suspected of being involved in criminal offenses was enabled.

According to the chief prosecutor, Dibër district has the lowest crime rate per 100,000 inhabitants, while Vlorë district has the highest rate.

Regarding the microcredit scandal, he said that people are being investigated, while security measures have been taken.

" It is a disturbing phenomenon. There are several reports, there are prosecutors' decision-making related to them. One has been made public, there have been actions by the prosecutor's office where there are people who are investigating, and there are security measures. It remains to be seen how the investigation and trial will continue. But each case has a prosecutor who is investigating the cases and a court that will make the assessment.  What has been requested of the prosecutor's office is to encourage the deepening of the investigations in all directions as much as is allowed to the general prosecutor",  said Çela.
