The fire in Madhesh i Mati

A big fire broke out today in Madhesh, in a forest massif between Kurbin and Mati, including a large area of forest, while some houses are also threatened.

According to the latest information, one of the apartments was engulfed in flames, while the fire also destroyed several beehives.

The situation is extremely serious, while the fire is suspected to have been set on purpose. This is because in a time span of 20 minutes, a total of 8 fires were seen to ignite in the entire area.

The flames are approaching a protected area with perennial pines where there are also 5 apartments and 3 towers. The elderly are reported to have left there to escape injuries.

Currently, helicopter intervention is expected as the terrain is too difficult for firefighters from the ground.
