Albania expands defense industry, launches “Guna Tactical” factory project

The Minister of Defense, Ermal Nufi, together with Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu, inspected the progress of works at the construction site of the "Guna Tactical" company, where an investment in the defense industry sector is being developed.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the project aims to create a modern production capacity for the design and production of clothing and accessories for the Armed Forces, State Police, Prison Police, other security structures, as well as for partners from NATO member countries.

During the visit, Minister Nufi described the investment as an important step for the development of the Albanian defense industry and for strengthening national security capacities.

"The defense industry is a new pillar of economic development and national security," Nufi declared, emphasizing that the project is expected to bring modern technology, specialized expertise, and contemporary production standards.

According to him, the new factory is expected to create around 1,200 jobs and help integrate Albanian industry into international defense sector supply chains.

The Minister underlined that the development of this industry is a strategic priority of the Government, with the aim of Albania increasing its competitiveness, technological capacities and cooperation with Euro-Atlantic allies.

"Such investments contribute to building a stronger, more competitive and more integrated Albanian defense industry with strategic partners and NATO," said Minister Nufi.
