The new terminal at the "Mother Teresa" airport was inaugurated today. A new technological system for reading passports has also been put into operation. From tomorrow, the beneficiaries of this service will be holders of Albanian passports, citizens of the EU, the United States, Great Britain and Canada. Prime Minister Edi Rama has not hesitated to praise the biggest Albanian oligarch (also thanks to government tenders), Shefqet Kastrati, who has the Rinas airport concession.

"Today, the new technological system of reading passports at the entrance has been put into operation thanks to the commitment of the Minister of the Interior, the State Police and the company, which on the first day of signing the new agreement after buying from the previous concessionaire the right of operation, is engaged in the entire front of the work that needs to be done at this airport. From tomorrow, all citizens with Albanian passports who come to Rinas airport will not have their passports manually read by the police who looks them in the eye and sees the passport, but will go through the digital barrier with digital reading, a process that takes less than half the minute. This will ease the flow of entries. This also applies to citizens of the EU, USA, Great Britain and Canada. For others, there will be a process of passage with manual reading of the passport", said Rama.
