The members of the Joint Movement protested this morning outside the Assembly, where they demand the approval of the minimum living wage from the legislators.

In his speech, the leader of the movement Arlind Qori said that it is a misfortune to be a pensioner in Albania, as the state has forgotten these individuals.

According to him, in advanced countries, retirement day is a day where citizens enjoy the fruits of the work they have done throughout the decades, while in Albania retirement day is a cursed day.

He added that the adoption of the minimum living wage is a necessity for citizens and pensioners to receive adequate support. 

" We are still in the conditions where the poor are given the same answer by their state, which tells them to give God, and if God doesn't tell them to give, they tell them to give to the child. The state has no obligation whatsoever. You may have worked for 40 years in white and black and the state has no obligation to them. Live the toads who run out of sight and feet in Germany and America, behind the sun and who work two or three jobs not only to support themselves, but also to support their family members. Alas, in Albania, you are retiring. Instead, retirement is a day that the citizen looks forward to after having worked for several decades and says that he will maintain his level of well-being and not go to work. In Albania, retirement day is cursed, for the majority who receive 80,000 ALL", said Qorri.
