Activist Edison Lika, at the 111th citizen protest, criticized the reforms undertaken over the years by the Socialist Party, saying that they have not had the citizen at the center.
According to him, these reforms have served to strengthen the government. Lika stated that the protest against the government has not been easy from the start, while accusing the regime of vote buying and theft, as well as corruption.
"All the reforms that the Socialist Party has made all these years have not been citizen-centered, but only the concretization of power. We knew from the beginning that the fight against this regime would not be easy. This regime has concretized power through vote buying, vote theft, and corruption. But I want to tell you that every day that we go out into the streets, we erode Rama's regime from within. For us, every day that we go out is plus one day of protest, and for him, it is minus one day of power ," he said.
Activist Edison Lika has called for continued civic resistance, stating that resistance should be part of everyday life and not just protests in the square.
Lika called on citizens to react to injustices, as this way of reacting would make it more difficult for future governments to make mistakes against citizens.
Lika also said that, in his opinion, change is not achieved through participation for just a few days or through actions to become prime minister, but through continuous resistance.
"We must react and resist wherever we are. We must react at work, we must react when we see injustice on the street, we must react to the state police, where, regardless of whether someone is our family member and makes a mistake, we must be servants of democracy. This is the most important thing we must learn from this protest."
If we have learned this, then anyone who comes after Edi Rama will find it very difficult to make mistakes with this people.
Please spread the word and let's be as many as possible, because those who follow us from home think that just by agreeing with us they are supporting us. This protest has had more popular support than any other protest that has been held in Albania, but we ask those citizens: protesting from something very beautiful and extraordinary, would certainly become routine. Even routine requires resisters.
"This regime will not fall with two days of protest, nor by getting inside the Prime Minister's office. This regime will fall with people who resist and have made up their minds to be here until the end ," said Lika.
