The Institute of Forensic Medicine reacted one day after the news that the prosecution had requested foreign experts to determine the causes of death of the child, Brian Spahiu, in the private clinic of doctor Roland Xhaxho.

In a response, this Institute states that "at the end of examining the obtained data, forensic doctors have compiled the cause and the scientific mechanism of death".

Triggered by the publication in some media, regarding the expert report on the death of the child, Brian Spahiu, that according to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana: "The first report of the expert opinion was incomplete and the conclusion was incorrect, while there are no experts in the field to provided answers to all questions", the Institute of Forensic Medicine informs you as follows:

After the autopsy, forensic doctors have performed the standard procedures for determining the cause and mechanism of death of the child, who was treated for dental treatment at the private clinic of doctor Roland Xhaxho.

Since the case of the child's death was specific, in addition to the two doctors who performed the autopsy, two other IML doctors, who are specialists in pathological anatomy, participated in determining the cause and mechanism of death. At the end of the review of the obtained data, forensic doctors have compiled the cause and the scientific mechanism of death.

Legal doctors respond to the criteria of the Code of Criminal Procedure for the appointment and performance of the duty and take the oath according to the procedural law for each act of expertise.

In any case of allusion to a conflict of interest, the Criminal Procedural Law provides for the waiver of the expert and the replacement of the expert.
