The Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office is investigating the suicide of 17-year-old Vehip Peçi in the city of Gjirokastra.
From preliminary data, the Prosecution says there is no evidence to suggest that the minor's serious act was related to harassment or bullying by peers.

In relation to the event of 20.04.2025, where in the outdoor premises of his apartment in the village of Valare, Gjirokastër, the minor citizen VP, aged 15, was found hanging, without signs of life, after the Gjirokastër Police Commissariat notified the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastër, in the presence of the prosecutor of the juvenile section and the available prosecutor, by order of the Head of the Prosecution Office, an investigative group was immediately created to handle the case.
Under the direction of the prosecutor's office, the first investigative actions have been carried out, which consist of examining the scene of the incident, conducting a forensic examination, seizing phones, computer devices and examining them, seizing the minor's school materials, and taking statements in the capacity of a person who has knowledge of the circumstances of the incident from the employees responsible for the treatment of the minor. From all the investigative actions carried out up to this stage of the investigation, no data or indication has been found that would prove that the action committed by the minor was caused by harassment or bullying behavior by his peers.
The Gjirokastra Prosecution Office is continuing with special priority the investigations, regarding the full clarification of the incident as well as the actions taken by the responsible, competent authorities regarding the handling of the case of the minor VP.
