With deep sorrow, the Arbëresh community in Argentina and Latin America announces the loss of Father Alejandro Greco, Archbishop of Albanians in these regions, who has passed away prematurely. The news was shared through the Archbishop's official Facebook page, where deep sorrow was expressed for this great loss that has shocked all believers and Arbëresh society.
Father Alejandro Greco was a prominent figure and leader beloved by Albanians in the diaspora, who contributed throughout his life to strengthening the ties between the Arbëresh community and Albania, as well as to preserving and cultivating the traditions, language, and religious beliefs of Albanians in Latin America. His tireless commitment to serving the spiritual and cultural community has left a deep mark that will be remembered for many generations.
To honor his memory, a tribute will be held at the “Vicente Scilingo” hospice (Forest 906), in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on April 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The funeral ceremony will then take place at the Chacarita cemetery.
