Former minister Lefter Koka participated for the first time in the trial against him, which is being held today in the Court against Corruption and Organized Crime.

Through the defense lawyers, Koka is reading the final conclusions for the Elbasan incinerator.

Meanwhile, SPAK has demanded 10 years in prison for the former Minister of the Environment, Koka, who, if tried with a summary trial, risks being sentenced to 6.8 years in prison.

His lawyers claim that in relation to the Elbasan incinerator, four ministries, Finance, Economy and Energy, Environment and Justice, have been asked for their opinion, while they have stated that they have about 120 thousand pages of documents that prove Koka's innocence.

Conclusions of Lefter Koka's lawyers:

1-The evidence in 120,000 pages of the investigation file proves the absolute innocence of Lefter Koka for the 3 charges. The process is politically motivated, there is a client and an executor.

2- The two meetings in which it is claimed that Lefter Koka participated in discussions with Albtek are proven by TIMS to have been outside Albania.

3- The cost of the Elbasan plant is the most economical. The landfill costs 3 times less than that of Vlore, 2 times less than Saranda.

4. Lefter Koka has no assets added after 2013, proven by the investigation and ILDKPKI. Where is the corruption money?

5-The companies have committed fiscal evasion with each other unrelated to Lefter Koka and have been convicted by the district courts for this crime. The investigation was diverted.

6- This case was investigated and tried in the court of Elbasan. It is unconstitutional to retry. We will turn to Strasbourg.

7-The property you want to seize was established in 1927 and privatized in 2000. This is violence in the name of the law.

8- 81 people have been questioned, until today no one testifies to having given corruption money to Lefter Koka.

9-We submitted 3966 pages of evidentiary and expert materials that dismantle the accusation. They were not even read by the prosecution. What justice is this?

10-None of the companies is owned by and has no connection with Lefter Koka. This is a legal anomaly.

11-No unjustified penny has been found in Lefter Koka's estate. Not a single cent has been seized as evidence of corruption. - The prosecution talks about doubts, but the doubts are in favor of Lefter Koka. No law violated is cited by the Prosecution. - No damage has been caused by the executive activity of the Ministry of the Environment. - Accusations without evidence strengthen the belief that Lefter Koka is attacked politically.
