The Tirana Court has set the security measure "Arrest in prison" for Ina Cekaj , who was arrested two days ago by the police on charges of "Financial fraud more than once" and "Forgery of documents" for profit.
It turns out that Ina Cekaj, a few years ago, worked as a journalist for a television show, where the focus was on discovering missing people in Albania.
The request for Ina Cekaj's imprisonment was made by the prosecutor in the case, Mirela Kapo , who explained to the judge that the arrested person had set up a fraud scheme among residents damaged by the November 2019 earthquake in Fushë-Krujë.
According to the accusation, Cekaj had set up the fraud mechanism by presenting herself as an advisor to Prime Minister Edi Rama and that he had placed her in charge of the "La Mama" project specifically set up by him to financially compensate families damaged by the 2019 earthquake.
In exchange for "help," Ina Cekaj demanded financial sums ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 euros from each resident who sought compensation.
To convince citizens that she was truly Rama's advisor, she distributed to them several forged business cards and other false documents.
At one time, on her social media profiles, Ina Cekaj posted, sharing every status that the country's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, published on Facebook.
Using this mechanism, Ina Cekaj has managed to deceive dozens of residents of Fushë-Krujë and Laç.
But some of them were able to understand the deception and went to the Fushë-Krujë police, filing a criminal report.
Investigations conducted by the police revealed that Ina Cekaj had only committed fraud, as she was not part of Edi Rama's cabinet or any governing project, as she presented herself.
Given this situation, the police have arrested Ina Cekaj and today the Tirana court has imposed the security measure "Arrest in prison" on Cekaj./ Syri
