The State Police has taken stock of the month of January 2023. Through an official announcement, it is known that 94 police operations were finalized during this month.

Meanwhile, 564 people were arrested for activities contrary to the country's laws during this month, 69 of whom were wanted nationally or internationally.

"The structures of the State Police, in the center and in the districts, have been deployed in the front against organized crime and crimes in general. As a result, during this month, the following were identified and hit:

203 cases of criminal activities in the field of narcotics;

94 cases of weapons possession without a permit;

120 cases of economic crimes;

83 cases of criminal activities aimed at illegal border crossing;

25 cases of illegal organization of gambling.

During the month of January 2023, operations and mega-operations, strikes and response in flagrante conditions, preventive work and investigative work were finalized with the aim of shedding light on the crimes that happened before, as a result of which the following were seized:

3 weapon arsenals, 36 firearms, 6 shotguns, stun gun, hand grenades, 2 bulletproof vests, 2 life jackets, 2 pairs of long-range binoculars, a helmet, a combat bow, Police-like equipment and 508 cameras installed in different circles, to collect information about criminal contingencies;

Over half a million euros seized during the operations, about 1 million euros of criminal assets, 12 million lek, over 75,000 euros at the border, gold accessories, over 62,000 liters of smuggled oil, more than 30,000 euros of smuggled drugs, 763 smuggled mobile phones, computer equipment that served criminal activities in call centers and gambling, 1500 l of gas, hundreds of cigarette butts, 7 sculptures, various smuggled goods and false documents;

83 kilograms of cannabis, hundreds of doses, 511 seedlings and narcotic plants, hundreds of doses of cocaine and heroin, as well as 1,007 ecstasy tablets.

Also, 6 premises were identified and blocked where various criminal activities were carried out, among them: 1 warehouse where radioactive and chemical substances were kept, 2 premises where cannabis was cultivated, 1 premises where an arsenal of 12 firearms was kept and 2 premises where citizens of different, through call centers.

State Police employees are the guardians of public safety and the impact of their daily work extends into every capillary of life.

During the month of January, a series of mega-operations were finalized, which had a high public impact, increased the safety of life and property of citizens, and also increased the image of the State Police, among citizens and partners.

Intensive in-depth investigations and tracking work, to unravel 3 murders that occurred during the period 2019-2022. Operations "Conspiracy", "Eagle Eyes" and "Deepened", developed in Tirana, Durrës and Dibër counties, identified and arrested 9 citizens, for serious criminal offenses against life. 2 explosions with explosives, which happened in Shkodër, in 2020, were revealed and legally documented.

The "Fijet" mega-operation, initiated by the General Directorate of the State Police, dismantled 508 cameras in all districts of the country and investigated 101 citizens for installing them in violation of the law. Mega operation follows.

The mega-operation "Wings of crime" blocked 2 premises where cannabis was cultivated and 1 premises where an arsenal of firearms was kept, all of this for the account of criminal groups in Durrës.

As a result of in-depth investigations within the police mega-operation coded "Golden Bullet", during this month, 5 premises and 4710 m2 of land, owned by the citizen F. Ç., wanted internationally, for double murder, were confiscated.

Anti-drug operations "Indicia" and "Cërriku 2023", finalized in Kukës and Elbasan, resulted in the seizure of about 80.5 kg of cannabis, 1 firearm, 4 hunting weapons and 1 sporting weapon. For these operations, 3 citizens, foreigners and Albanians, who tried to traffic or sell narcotics were arrested.

As part of the "Step by step" operation, within 48 hours, the theft of a sum of money in a shop in Durrës with a firearm was revealed, and the 2 perpetrators with previous criminal record were arrested.

The seizure of 2 arsenals of weapons in Lezhë and Durrës prevented serious criminal events and zeroed out the possibility of the criminal contingent to commit various criminal acts.

The mega-operations of a high intensity and professionalism by the central structures for the investigation of economic crimes, "Signal" and "Subjekti", destroyed 2 criminal groups and arrested 6 of their members, who were defrauding commercial entities in order to receive significant sums of money. These 2 mega-operations also resulted in the seizure of over 153,000 euros.

The multistructural mega-operation "Geni" imprisoned 13 citizens, foreigners and Albanians, who were caught trying to smuggle 62,000 liters of oil through 2 fishing boats.

The 2 phases of the "Inside" mega-operation hit with the severity of the law, a case of theft of around 500,000 euros.

Special attention to the environment, in every district. The massive operational plans in Durrës, Vlora, Berat and Dibër, enabled the protection and release of wasted land surfaces, the punishment of entities that carried out commercial activities damaging environmental assets, as well as curbing air and water pollution".
