A young Albanian has saved the life of a child in the center of the city of Lamia. Dionis Abdiaj, born and raised in this city, in a family of immigrants from Albania.

The 22-year-old Albanian, who is considered a hero by the media, saved a 1-year-old boy when the flames engulfed his room in an old house where a 57-year-old Roma woman lived with her three grandchildren, 6 and 1 years old. as the parents were absent.

Dionysius was on his way home when he heard calls for help and ran to see what was happening. As soon as he arrived at the scene, he saw a lot of smoke and one of the rooms was surrounded by flames. Outside, the grandmother with the two older children as well as the neighbors calling for help were in a panic.

The 22-year-old just heard one of the brothers crying and told him that the baby was inside the house, without thinking twice, he took off his jacket and entered the room amidst the flames to save the little boy.

"The baby was crying and with a trembling voice she told me that the baby was at home. I immediately threw off my jacket and gave a hard kick to the bedroom window. I went in and took the baby who was surrounded by flames. It all happened so fast. Fortunately, the child survived and is fine. I did what any man would do if his life was in danger...", stated Dionis Abdiaj.

After a phone call, the Lamia fire department went to the scene with two vehicles and five firefighters who extinguished the fire before it spread to other apartments.
