The United States Embassy in Tirana has reacted for the first time to the civic protest that today marked its 33rd day.

The US Embassy informs its citizens this Thursday that nightly protests are continuing in the Albanian capital in front of the Prime Minister's Office building, which is located on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, between Skanderbeg Square and Mother Teresa Square.

According to the announcement, the rallies are expected to continue in the coming days and could potentially spread to other cities in the country. The embassy emphasizes that, although protests and large gatherings often begin peacefully, the situation can change quickly.

Authorities warn that there may be an increased police presence, roadblocks, traffic diversions and difficulties in circulation in the areas where the protests take place, especially in the hours before and during the rallies. It is also not ruled out that the protests will expand to surrounding areas, including other government institutions.

The Embassy urges U.S. citizens and the general public to avoid demonstrations, be aware of their surroundings, limit distractions such as using phones or headphones in public places, and follow local media for updated information.

It is also recommended that citizens always have an emergency or exit plan and maintain a low profile when moving in areas where there may be gatherings.

This is the first time that the US embassy in Tirana has reacted to the citizen protests, and its call comes after the violent clashes between protesters and police that occurred today in front of the Parliament.
