Pope Leo XIV visits "Our Lady of Shkodra", the church where the icon that disappeared in the Middle Ages is kept

Pope Leo XIV was in the city outside Rome this afternoon to privately visit the place of worship of the Augustinian presence, where the image of Our Lady brought there from Albania on the eve of the Turkish invasion is kept.

The Pope greeted the people in the square and prayed before the figure of the Virgin Mary, also known as Our Lady of Shkodra.

"I have really wanted to come here, in these first days of the new Ministry that the Church entrusted to me, to advance the mission as the Successor of Peter.
