Kreshnik, its leader, was arrested in 2019 in Madrid because he had a European arrest warrant issued by Italy since 2018, although Spanish police had already investigated him for his possible connection with a group of compatriots since in 2007 they attacked the house of businessman José Luis. Moreno and for the shooting death of a man in El Molar (Madrid) in 2008.
In the operation carried out today, it is expected to arrest about 20 people connected to the Farruku clan in different Spanish provinces. Also, judicial invitations are being sent to the investigated persons. The Civil Guard has emphasized that the operation is still open and that new arrests are not excluded in the following days.
In Malaga, the operation has spread to different parts of the province, although the number of people arrested in the area is not known at the moment. The Civil Guard has announced that the operation against the Farruku clan in the Costa del Sol aims to dismantle an important drug trafficking network that operates in this area.
Who is Kreshnik Farruku:
Kreshnik Farruku was suspected of killing his boss in Spain, in 2010, due to drug deals. But after the investigation, the Spanish prosecutors concluded that the murder had been prepared by Devi Kasmi, who was killed in an assassination attempt in January 2018 in Tirana. In May 2010, Farruku was arrested along with seven other gang members in Barcelona with 20 kg of cocaine he was trying to smuggle into Italy by car. After his imprisonment, it was the younger brother, Erniu, who took over the leadership of the group, but was arrested two years later in 2012. In 2014, Kreshnik Farruku escaped from prison while continuing to deal with drug trafficking . But Spanish police arrested him again at a hotel along with his brother and another tribe member.
In 2015, Kreshnik Farruk was assassinated in Albania. He was in the company of his brother-in-law, Rinald Budlla, and two friends, when he was shot in the "Don Bosko" area, while a passerby was injured. The track at that time was related to the disruption of drug deals in Italy, Spain and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, in 2012, the Court of Durrës imposed a preventive seizure on assets that reach a total figure of around 1 million euros owned by Kreshnik Bodlla (Farruku). According to the Prosecutor's Office, these assets were suspected to have been created by his illegal activities and were used by his two family members, Reshit Farruku (father) and Roland Farruku (whose brother was assassinated in 2014 in Manez), residents of Shijak in Durrës. The investigations showed that Reshit and Roland Farruku had bought a property worth 920,000 euros in the area of Gjiri t Lalzi.
