Loina Prifti is the new leader who will be in charge of the institution that will produce biometric passports and identity cards. This institution will no longer be known by the name "Aleat", but "IdentiTek". The priest is expected to take up his new position on August 1, the date on which the private company "Aleat" ends its contract for the production of biometric documents with the Albanian state, signed in 2008.

One of the changes that this agency will implement as soon as it returns under state administration will be the reduction of fees for both identity cards and passports, but they have not yet been determined as they are under discussion.

As far as logistics and infrastructure are concerned, it is learned that the joint-stock company "IdentiTek" will keep the same offices, equipment and employees that "Aleat" has until today, including maintaining connections with the company "Idemia" in France.

Loina Prifti has been living and working in Germany for years, where she also obtained German citizenship. The 35-year-old currently works at the Department of Information at the Technical University of Munich and deals with artificial intelligence.

Currently, Albanians, in order to produce a personal passport, must pay 7,500 for a 15-day deadline, while in an accelerated deadline in just 2 or 3 days, they must pay 18,000 ALL, while for the production of an identity card, 1,500 ALL is needed.
