"Mira Murati wants you to have a choice." With this sentence, the prestigious TIME magazine begins the article dedicated to the renowned engineer of Albanian origin. Her name is listed among the 100 people who are leading the Artificial Intelligence revolution around the globe.

Murati is not just part of the list, she shines on the global cover of TIME100 AI. She is joined by tech titans like Sam Altman, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Larry Ellison and Ilya Sutskever. This high rating maintains her position as one of the most enduring and influential figures in the industry, especially after her historic contribution as the chief technology officer at the giant OpenAI.

This year, TIME has divided the list into four main pillars: Leaders, Innovators, Shapers and Thinkers. The selection goes beyond coding labs. It includes policymakers, entrepreneurs, artists and creative figures, at a time when Artificial Intelligence is transforming the economy, culture and everyday life.

According to TIME editor-in-chief Sam Jacobs, this edition reflects an “explosive but also divisive” industry, where geopolitical and economic interests collide. This is also evident in the large presence of technology leaders from China, which testifies to the feverish competition between Washington and Beijing for dominance of the digital age.
