This has caused the natural increase of the population to be negative with 393 more deaths than births, Albania is moving towards aging.
According to data from INSTAT in our country, the number of deaths is higher than the number of births. For the first three months of the year, this number went to 5164.
This is the biggest decrease in births that has been recorded in recent years in our country.
"When we talk about social factors, we have what we call the economic uncertainty of the future, the uncertainty of a job that allows you some more income, but above all the desire to leave due to the effect of globalization that has already affected all the world . The movement of young people is an element that affects the number of births within the country", said Arjana Muça.
All districts have recorded a decrease in the number of births, but the district with the lowest number is Gjirokastra with only 77 births. In a more positive aspect is the district of Tirana with 1,939 births.
One of the reasons why the number of births has decreased is the provision of housing. High house prices hold hostage many young couples who want to start a family, but find it impossible in the face of the monthly income they provide.
"It is good that there are some policies that are related to what we called not fleeing and leaving young people from the country in order to create conditions and spaces for employment and even more to give them the opportunity to contribute to Albania, which they give you what they have gained professionally. And even more, I would say that social housing is one of the most important conditions and elements in terms of creating new families to have their own shelter, because this is an anomaly that young people today have a hard time with. to stay in a relationship or to create a family ," she said.
On the other hand, although for the first three months of the year, deaths were higher than births, there was also a decrease in the number of deaths in all regions of the country.
The number of deaths is 5,557, thus marking a decrease of 31.6%, compared to the first quarter of 2022. Despite this, it is worth noting that the number of deaths exceeds that of births for the first time in a normal period. Such numbers were recorded during the pandemic period, where Covid 19 claimed thousands of lives./ tch
