Fake health news is harming citizens who blindly believe both products advertised as curing a disease and photomontages of famous doctors.

This concern is also denounced by the head of the Medical Order, Dr. Dritan Trepçe, who explains that there have been cases when patients have abandoned the medication prescribed by the doctor, trusting uncontrolled products and harming their health.

Dr. Dritan Trepçe – President of the Medical Order: It is very worrying as we have had cases where patients have been taken off their medications and damaged their health. This reduces the patient's trust in the doctor and the healthcare system.

Medical associations have raised concerns about the fraud that is being perpetrated with photos of doctors or videos of them with their voices edited in, as if they are the ones recommending products that cure certain diseases.

The Doctor's Order considers it somewhat difficult to control social networks, but on the other hand, it calls for strengthening legislation on deceptive advertising in the field of healthcare.
