The Greek police have arrested a 44-year-old Albanian, who is suspected of having been involved in the execution of four members of a Montenegrin mafia clan on the outskirts of Athens.

Abbas Rabi, according to Balkan Insight, carried out the murders in the Greek capital and on the island of Corfu in 2020.

Police say Rabi helped store and transport the weapons used in the killings on the outskirts of Athens, as well as the escape of gang members after the killing in Corfu, from Sivota to Halkidiki and then out of the country.

The Albanian was arrested on February 27 and a gun, magazines and 40 cartridges were found in his house.

The file has been submitted to the prosecution, while the Albanian has been sent for questioning. The victims executed in Greece are members of the Montenegrin mafia clan Sljara. Igod Dedovic and Stefan Stamatovic were killed in a restaurant in January 2020, while they were having lunch with their families.

In July of that year, two members of another Skaljar mafia clan, Alan Kozar and Damir Hadzic, were also killed in a villa on Corfu's Halikouna beach.

Balkan Insight writes that an order worth 1.5 million euros is hidden behind the murders, part of a war between two notorious clans, Kavaçi and Skaljarski.
