New details are coming to light regarding the serious incident that happened on August 13 of this year, where a 22-year-old woman from Kenya was raped and thrown from the second floor of the apartment she lived in for rent on "Pandeli Evangjeli" street.

Although the event took place on August 12, the first notification of the event by the Tirana police was made only after 3 months, on November 9.

The police stated that at the end of the first investigative actions for this case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Tirana Judicial District Court, which has registered the criminal proceedings, for the criminal offense "Deliberate serious injury".

Although the police reacted after 3 months, sources for News24 inform that the prosecutor's office started the investigation about 2 weeks after the incident, since at this time it was referred to by the Tirana police, which not only did not make the case public, but referred it with delay even in the prosecutor's office. Sources from the Prosecutor's Office inform that the investigations are continuing and that investigative actions have been carried out by gathering evidence about the event.

The prosecutor's office received the forensic report for the 22-year-old woman, based on which the criminal offense "Deliberate serious injury" was also referred to, as it turns out that the young woman was raped.

The prosecution has interrogated the close people and compatriots of the 22-year-old from Kenya who live and work in Albania and knew Joy, and the last contacts of the girl have also been interrogated.

Residents of the area where the apartment was located and neighbors of the 22-year-old were also questioned. It is suspected that there were other people inside the apartment where Joy lived for rent on "Pandeli Evangjeli" street when the incident happened.

For this, scientific evidence has been collected, such as prints and fingerprints to find out who are the people who were in the 22-year-old's apartment on the night when the incident happened and what connects them to the girl from Kenya, who worked in a casino in Tirana .

Although 3 months have passed since the event and the prosecutor's office is investigating, there is still no person detained or suspected of the incident. The 22-year-old is in a serious condition in the Trauma hospital and her mother is waiting to transfer her to a hospital outside Albania so that her daughter can receive more specialized medical treatment.
